To celebrate the greatest act of Love, some single-mothers and widows at Buduburam Camp in the Central Region have been supported with assorted food and clothing for their upkeep.

The gesture seeks to build productive, safe and self-sufficient communities within the refugee population.

Single-mothers and widows have been the hardest hit amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Kate Darkoa is a mother to two sets of twins and a triplet.

As a widow, she struggles to feed, shelter and cloth the children.

Isatu Kuyateh is a refugee from Sierra Leone with four children. She hawks to earn a living. Agatha Kojolo on the other hand is a refugee from Liberia with five children. She lost her husband in 2017, and her life has never been the same ever since.

These are the struggles of some widows and single mothers at Buduburam Camp in the Central Region.

In keeping with the lesson of the widow’s mite, Morning Glory Foundation, a faith-based charitable organisation donated bags of rice, cooking oil, sanitary products, food, clothing, detergents among others.

The founder of Morning Glory Foundation, Rev. Mrs. Davida Matti-Atakpah said Easter, is a celebration of love hence the support to touch lives and to advocate for a society where all are valued and treated equally.

To the beneficiaries, the donation is timely and will cushion them in these difficult times.

They expressed their gratitude to the foundation for their thoughtfulness and kind gesture.
