Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has rendered a national apology to victims of child sexual abuse.
Hundreds of people gathered in Canberra to hear Mr Morrison deliver the emotional address in parliament.
It follows a five-year inquiry which revealed that thousands of children had suffered abuse in national institutions over decades.
The inquiry, which ended in December, heard more than eight thousand testimonies from victims on abuse in organisations such as churches, schools and sports clubs.
