Filing of nominations for executive positions of the Ghana Journalists Association,GJA ended yesterday.
Nominations for the elections started on the 13th of last month. Those who filed for the presidency are Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor of Atinka Media Village, Gayheart Mensah, a Media Consultant and Dave Agbenu of the New Times Corporation.
The Vice President slot is being contested by Mrs. Linda Asante-Agyei of the Ghana News Agency, while Mrs Audrey Dekalu, also of the GNA, is going for the position of Treasurer.
Others are General Secretary Kofi Yeboaha lecturer at Wisconsin University College and Akwasi Agyeman of the Multimedia Group.
Those vying for Organising Secretary are Dominic Hlordzi of GBC and Mary Mensah of the Graphic Communications Group Limited. Contesting the position of Public Affairs Officer are Rebecca Ekpe of GBC and Caesar Abagali of the Ghana News Agency.
Secretary of the GJA Elections Committee, Peter Agbeko, who received the nomination forms on behalf of the Committee wished the aspirants good luck, as they prepare for vetting.
The candidates promised to conduct their campaigns peacefully and transform the fortunes of the Association if voted into office.
Aspirants for regional positions also filed their nominations in regions across the country.
