PPP revisits agenda calling for amendment of constitution to “FixTheCountry”

The Progressive People’s Party (PPP), has thrown its support behind the new social media campaign hashtag “FixTheCountry”.

To this end, the party has proposed some solutions to Government to ensure the country is fixed. These include a proposal for MMDCES to be elected instead of appointed and separation of Parliament from the Executive.

Speaking at a News Conference in Accra on Wednesday, May 12, National Chairman of the PPP, Nana Ofori Owusu reiterated the need for Government to put in measures to change some aspects of the Constitution to make the country better.

The news conference was aimed at lending PPP’s support to the #FixTheCountry campaign on social media as well as suggesting ways to fixing the country properly for the unborn generation.

National Chairman of the PPP, Nana Ofori Owusu speaking at the conference emphasised that the party is in total support of the youth asking government to fix the country. He said for government to be able to fix the country, some aspects of the Constitution need to be changed.

Nana Owusu also called on government to make conscious efforts to grow the economy by making local sector players major investors of the country’s economy.

The 2020 flagbearer of the PPP, Bridgette Dzogbenuku supported standpoint of the party for constitutional review.

Leadership of the PPP says they will be having periodic press conferences from now onwards aimed at offering policy alternatives to fulfill their civic responsibility in helping fix Ghana for the better.
