The Ghana Armed Forces have started the fourth phase of Operation Halt Two, aimed at removing all persons and equipment used in mining from water bodies.
A statement issued by the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, said the operation will focus on the Ankobra River and its tributaries.
It said more than four hundred (400) personnel of all ranks have been deployed for the operation.
The statement, therefore, advised the public to stay away from mining in water bodies to avoid the wrath of the military.
