The Deputy Information Minister, now substantive Minister-designate, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has indicated the Government is looking at possible means to revamp The State Broadcaster, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) to make it more viable.
Responding to questions from MPs when he appeared before, The Appointments Committee of Parliament on Friday, 26th October, 2018, the former Joy FM Morning Show Host stated that, a committee had been constituted by President Nana Akufo-Addo to advice on how to restructure GBC to perform better.
“The committee, he explained, had been tasked to offer recommendations as to whether GBC should continue to operate as a public service broadcaster and adequately resourced to do so or its mandate should be amended to allow it operate as a commercial entity“.
