Analysts say appointment of COP Dampare as Acting IGP will inject due diligence into the Service

Security Analyst, Adib Sani says the appointment of Dr. George Dampare, as Acting IGP is the right move and would restore confidence in the Ghana Police Service.

Speaking on Behind the News Mr. Sani, noted that the fact that Dr Dampare, rose through the ranks to his current position will motivate young officers to aim high and be of positive behavior.

He said the challenges in crime-fighting are enormous hence the need to put in place strategies to win the battle against crime and restore the image of the Police Service.

MP for Wa West and former Executive Secretary at the Office of the IGP, Peter Lanchene Toobu, says the Acting IGP is a principled and hardworking person who believes in doing the right thing at all times.

Speaking on Behind the News, Mr Toobu called on the President to give him the necessary support to change the image of policing in the country.

He advised Dr Dampare to work with the rank and file in the police service by improving their conditions of service and morals if he wants to succeed.
