Twenty students of the Mampong Campus of the Akenten Appiah – Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED)have been dismissed for falsifying their results for admission.

Also dismissed is a Chief Administrative Assistant at the college’s registrar’s office, Mampong Campus, Kwabena Nkrumah, for the role he played in helping the students to falsify their results for admission.

This is the first of its kind since the University attained autonomous status to admit students and run its own programmes.

AAMUSTED was the Kumasi and Mampong Campuses of the University of Education, Winneba.

It swung into full gear as an autonomous University on November 27, 2020 after Dr. Mattew Opoku Prempeh, then Education Minister, on behalf of President, Akuffo Addo, performed the inauguration to pave the way.

AAMUSTED, under Act 2019 (Act 1026), is mandated to train and provide teachers with the relevant competence for teaching in technical and vocational education institutions and foster links between the University, industry and the community to ensure the holistic training of teachers among others.
