The Asante Mampong police have arrested a suspected murderer and a drug addict John Asare aged 22 at his hideout at Kyirifaso near Mampong.
Asare was declared wanted for allegedly stabbing one Michael Addai aged 29 to death at Seikwa in the Tain District of Bono region.
He was stabbed on July 27, in a scuffle at a popular drug trafficking spot at Seikwa.
Asare upon arrest was immediately sent to Berekum, where he was arraigned before a Magistrate court presided over by Simon Gaga.
He was later remanded in prison custody for two weeks pending further investigations.
Victor Tannor who the police claimed assisted Asare to escape arrest was also charged for harboring a criminal and was remanded for two weeks. They are to reappear on the 13th of this month.
According to Detective Sergeant Clement Keeyeri, Asare who is an ex-convict was reported to have stabbed Michael Addai and bolted instantly.
Addai was quickly rushed to the Berekum Holy Family Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Two others, Abongo and Zulkiah who have been mentioned as accomplices are on the run and the police are appealing to the public to offer information leading to their arrest.
