Ketu South Municipal Director of Education, Michael Yao Tsuiatorfe, has refuted claims that authorities are shielding a student, who attacked a tutor of Three Town Senior High School last Wednesday, saying, “the law is taking its course.
The 19-year old final-year Visual Arts student, Gilbert Akakpois before the Aflao Circuit Court for causing harm to John KwashiAkey, an ICT tutor, who tried to prevent him from bullying a first-year student.
Mr Tsuiatorfe said after the attack, on August 11, the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment, while the accused surrendered to the Police the same day and put before the court the following day.
The Municipal Director of Education told the GNA that the student was granted bail in the sum of 30,000 Ghana cedis, with two sureties.
Meanwhile, a delegation led by the Ketu South Municipal Chief Executive, Elliot Agbenorwu, has visited the school to speak to the teachers and also called on the victim and his family at home.
