Ghana AIDS Commission express worry in rate of HIV rise increase

The Acting Director General of the Ghana AIDS Commission Mr Kyeremeh Atuahene says it is very worrying the rate at which HIV infection among the Youth in Ghana has increased by 45 percent.

Mr Kyeremeh attributed the rapid increase of the virus from the ages of 15 to 24 years to careless living, lack of knowledge that will enable them protect themselves from contracting the disease and also engaging in sexual activities without protection.

Mr Atuahene further stated that the Commission will pursue an agenda 909090 Fasttrack Target which will see to it that all Ghanaians test for the Virus and those with the Virus put on the anti-retroviral drug.
