The Volta /Oti Regional Secretariat of the Health Services Workers Union (HSWU) of Ghana has urged its members to embark on strike in solidarity with the nationwide industrial action declared by their mother Union.

This according to the Union stems from the government’s inability to implement their conditions of service after several negotiations since 2016.

Announcing the intended strike in Ho, the Regional Chairman of the Union, Emmanuel Bugno-Gator said the government has over the years treated members unfairly compared to other sister health workers Union.

He said the review and implementation of their conditions of service is long overdue after satisfying that of sister health workers Unions.

The Volta/Oti Regional Women Chairperson of the Union, Mabel Duvor stated that poor conditions of service for HSWU members is taking a toll on their meagre wages and urged the government to as a matter of urgency review it.

The Regional Industrial Relations Officer of the Union, Richard Appiah urged members to comply with the directive issued by the Union, until the government resolves their grievances.
