Security Analyst, Adib Saani has called for the protection of Assembly members in Juaben involved in the confirmation of the DCE in that area. This follows the arrest of the DCE nominee for the area Alex Safo Kantanka, after a video emerged on social media where he is alleged to be demanding bribes he paid to the Assembly members for his confirmation, but was rejected for the 2nd time. According to Mr Saani, the situation makes the Assembly members targets for assault and other forms of violence. He told Nathaniel Nartey that with the video evidence at hand, the Police have no excuse not to look into the matter.
”We need to put in place urgent steps to ensure the safely of the assembly members because i saw the youth in ghe area(Juaben) outside waiting for the assembly members to step out to the met out instant justice but fortunately there was police presence…..it doesn’t end there, they might be targeted individually by the people and even the failed DCE who appeared very livid”, according to Security Analyst Adib Saani.
