The Tema Regional Office of the Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG, has commissioned a team to visit the Krobo area to undertake meter-readings to produce current bills and commence a survey to capture technical data that will lead to the introduction of prepaid meters.
The team is also to undertake technical inspection to ensure the integrity of the ECG’s energy meters within individual premises.
Members of the ECG team will be identified by their cards and ECG vests. The exercise which commenced December 14, 2021 will be expanded to reduce the number of visits to the premises within the Krobo District.
Speaking to GBC News’ Edith Atiaka Eshun in Tema, the Regional Public Relations Officer of the ECG, Sekyiwaa Mensah said, ”the current measures do not imply that all debts owed by the people have been canceled”.
