Belgium-based Ghanaian international, Joseph Paintsil is optimistic the black stars would win its remaining matches at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon despite Ghana’s lone goal defeat to Morocco in Yaoundé on Monday.

“Everything is possible, even though we lost one, we have two games more, with two games everything is possible to have 6 points, and we need to take one game at a time,” Paintsil said in a post-match interview.

The Genk attacker was brilliant in attack against Morocco and came close to scoring in the second half but a wonder save from Moroccan shot-stopper, Yassine Bounou denies him his first AFCON goal.

Commenting on the defeat, Paintsil admitted the result against the Atlas Lions was disappointing but was hopeful the remaining two group matches with Gabon and Comoros would play out well to redeem themselves in surpassing the group stages.

“It’s a disappointing result, we have two more games to go we need to redeem ourselves as a team, as players all we need is concentration.”

“Unfortunately we wanted a win but it turned out to be 1-0 by a mistake but this is football we don’t need to put our heads down. We have to keep going because we have two games ahead,” said Paintsil.

Ghana will face Gabon in their next group game on Friday.
