Former President and 2020 Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has unveiled the John Evans Atta Mills (JEAM) Memorial Heritage.
The Memorial Heritage is to immortalize Professor Mills’ virtues of commitment to inclusivity, transparency, accountability and relentless quest for peace.
In an address, Mr. Mahama said the launch of the JEAM Memorial Heritage is a step in the right direction as it is inspired by the many sacrifices of the late President.
He asked Ghanaians to uphold the virtues of tolerance, unity and moral integrity at all times. Mr. Mahama said it was a privilege for him to have worked with the former Ghanaian Leader.
The late President John Evans Atta Mills served as vice president of Ghana from 1997 to 2001. He later became Ghana’s President from January 7, 2008 to July 24, 2012, after winning the historic 2008 election.
He died on July 24, 2012 while in office.
Chairman of JEAM Memorial Heritage, Alex Segbefia, said the unique view of the late John Evans Atta Mills to society would deepen through the establishment of the JEAM memorial Heritage.
He said his values would be inculcated in people and welcomed support of individuals and institutions.
