The Tamale Technical University (TaTU) and Northern Development Authority (NDA) are in talks for possible collaborations. This came to light after the Vice-Chancellor of Tamale Technical University (TaTU), Professor Abass Braimah, on Friday 11th February, 2022 paid a visit to the new Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Development Authority, Mr. Sumaila Abdulai at his office in Tamale.
The visit was to congratulate the new C.E.O and also use the opportunity to open discussions for the two institutions to explore opportunities for Collaborations for mutual gains.
The discussions centered on the need for the NDA to officially engage TaTU.
The parties agreed that, for NDA to successfully implement its developmental agenda in the North, there is the need for the Authority to put in adequate systems and controls that would guide operations of the development vehicle for the Northern Regions and other areas.
One key issue that was highlighted was the need for more attention to be paid to the development of education in the North.
The meeting concluded with a call for the two institutions to continue to engage further for mutual partnership agreements to be signed and implemented.
Mr. Patrick Seidu, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Finance Administration and Mr Stephen Yir-eru, Deputy Chief Executive Officer were with the C.E.O to support the discussion whilst Alhaji Yakubu Iddrisu, Registrar of TaTU, and Mr Osman Mubarik Abu, Director of Public Affairs of TaTU accompanied the Vice-Chancellor on the visit.
