Following the abysmal performance of the Black Stars in the just ended AFCON 2021, issues concerning selection of players have popped up whether or not Coaches have the absolute power to do that. This was due to rumours that indicate that Presidents of the GFA and even some highly political personalities are behind the selection, putting in their favourites.
Former GFA President Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe says he is totally against external influences that will be exerted on any Coach to pick a player.
“I am totally against any external influence whatsoever that will be put on a coach to select a player”.
Togbe Tamakloe noted that before a team is constituted there should first be a competent Coach to come up with a deserving team, he can work with adding that the Coach should know what he wants. He said there should not be any form of interference from anybody in selecting good players for the team.
