” The Ghana Premier League will never meet international standards if it continues to rely on the facilities provided by the Government of Ghana ” says a Lawyer and a Member of Ghana’s Normalisation Committee, Naa Odofoley Nortey.

She said the GFA operates within the four corners of the laws of Ghana so it has to follow rules and regulations of that country, but not to the extent of controlling the day to day administration of the GFA.

” Until such a time when our premier league clubs will have their own venues which meet international standards, and do not have to rely on the facilities provided for by the Government of Ghana, they really do not have a choice than to toe the line in terms of certain things that are required of them”, she said.

” The GFA operates within the four corners of the laws of Ghana that is why the government of Ghana can say that because there is a pandemic, we are limiting for health reasons, we are limiting the number of people who can even patronize your product and they will comply”, she said.

To this end, she revealed that the nation’s Sports Authority was having tremendous influence on the GFA.

“NSA has the rules and regulations for the use of facilities. The FA doesn’t have its own facilities, the Clubs do not have their own facilities, they have no choice than to go with it”

The Sports enthusiast took her turn on the GTV Sports+ special program “Saving Our passion”, March 10, 2022.
