Debate on the President’s State of the Nation Address began last night. Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu and a Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr John Ampontuah Kumah said the President through tough economic measures is charting a solid path for Ghana’s self sufficiency through home grown solutions.
MP for Asunafo South, Eric Opoku said the economy was having challenges even before the advent of COVID-19 and stressed that government must admit that.
Contributing to the debate, the MP for Elembelle, Emmanuel Armaah Kofi Buah expressed surprise that the President failed to touch on the petroleum sector.
For his part, MP for Karaga, Mohammed Amin-Adam noted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has shown much commitment to developing the upstream oil sector.
