Discourse on the ”Water for all Agenda” has been on-going, following the programme rolled out by the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources.
On issues pertaining to quality water for rural Communities, the Chairman, NGOs for Sanitation and Water, Yaw Atta-Arhin tasked the government to, as a matter of urgency, explore alternative water supply mechanisms in the rural areas.
Speaking on GBC’s Current Affairs program, ”Talking Point”, he said lack of potable water is a major issue in these areas.
According to Mr. Atta-Arhin, the sector can use streams, rivers and other relevant water bodies in the rural areas as sources of water supply if treated.
He added that the government needs to invest in water treatment to foster productivity in these areas.
