The Akatsi Municipal Police commander Supt. Isaac Baiden says Akatsi is enjoying relative peace following a comprehensive plan put in place by the command to prevent a repeat of the clashes that ensued between the Police and the residents.

Speaking with GBC News’ Edmound Tetteh, Supt. Isaac Baiden said the Police picked up 5 suspects during the disturbances and are currently on the trail of some fugitive suspects. He added that the directive to close down drinking bars is yet to be enforced ”because the Police need to do this together with the Municipal Assembly”, he explained.

Supt. Isaac Baiden said the Police is having regular education and interaction with the residents to apprise them of the ”laws of public disturbances and disorder in order to stop further troubles”.
