Some residents of Keta have refused to move to higher grounds, despite warnings by the Ghana Meteorological Agency, of high tidal waves which may cause destruction.
Meteo on April 19, 2022 demanded that the government make adequate preparations against possible high tides, predicting that the high tides along the country’s coastlines could reach 1.82 metres.
Officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation, NADMO and the Assembly, moved to the Communities to get the residents to move, but the MCE for Ketu South, Maxwell Lugudor, says ”the residents are adamant”.
