Information reaching gbcghanaonline indicates that a couple have died from electric shock at their home. The incident happened at Kongo in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region on April 20, 2022.
According to family members, the woman, Mary Banike returned home with some water from the borehole. She was then caught by a wire, which served as drying lines.
Unknown to Madam Banike the wire which was tired against another wire at the veranda was powered. Unfortunately, she fell down with the water and got electrocuted killing her instantly.
Her husband, Joseph Banike after sensing danger also run to rescue the wife but was also electrocuted.
The two were rushed to the Ayamfoya Memorial Hospital but they were pronounced died.
According to the Director of Ayamfoya Memorial Hospital, ”when they were brought to my facility, we examined them to see if they were breathing. But they were already dead. There was no life in them”, he said.
Unconfirmed reports also indicate that the woman was some months pregnant.
