Domestic tourists who took advantage of the Easter festivities to visit beaches and lagoon sides at the Southern part of the Volta Region are calling on the government to come to their aid and repair the rather relatively damaged roads.
The Tourists who spent time to reunite with friends, and their families, said their trip was expectant but for the rather unmotorable roads made their journeys unpleasant.
Some of the roads in question include; Denu through Havedzi or from Anlo Afiedenyigba through Havedzi Road to Keta and Anloga side for both Beach/Lagoon roads are deployable roads in town.
The celebrants from Accra particularly those who took part in the first Regatta Competition and Tours to the Islands on the Keta Lagoon Complex on Easter Saturday, 16th April 2022 organized by Vodza-Adzido Eco-Tourism Development Initiative in collaboration with the Keta Municipal Assembly left the town to their various destinations pondering over the bad roads inundated by countless potholes.
The domestic tourists who could not hide their frustrations told gbcghanaonline.com that, they are disillusioned and have sent an appeal to government to propel domestic tourism by ”fixing the roads”.
About 15kilometers of the Anlo Afiedenyigba Junction Havedzi road has gone so bad that there are records of frequent collisions, a concern to all road users and the people in the town and neighbouring communities.
