The Municipal Chief Executive for LA Dedekotopon Rev. Solomon Nikoi Kotey has commissioned an asphalted road at Saint Thomas Aquinas Senior High School In Accra. The road was constructed as part of the school and to mark its 70th Anniversary.
Commissioning the road the MCE encouraged the students to learn hard to make their leaders and the Municipality proud.

He pledged to undertake many more projects for the school.

“Before we do the commissioning we as an Assembly, are pledging our support. We have heard some of your requests. Teachers block, teachers’ bungalow and other things. We will see what we can do to support you. But let me use this opportunity to encourage the students that I am always excited and proud when I hear of your results. I was told that this year you came tops of all the day schools in Accra and in Ghana so we encourage you to Learn more so you make us proud in this Municipality”.

Headmaster of the School, Paul Amoasi Baidoo called on the government to consider making the school a boarding institution.

“I pleaded through the Board, the Municipal Director to the Regional Director to plead if they can make Aquainas a Day /Boarding looking at the circumstances. So we have written it to Headquarters and we are waiting for consideration. Like you have just said, the students are coming from afar and Aquinas is the best day school in the country, but the situation now is making it very difficult. Some come to school sometimes at nine and when we are having the intervention class we start at 7. So if you come at 9,you have lost two periods so we are pleading that they make Aquinas a Day and a Boarding School”, he said.
