NPP Klottey Korle Constituency elections end peacefully after initial acrimony

The New Patriotic Party, NPP Klottey Korle Constituency Executive elections ended peacefully after the initial acrimony. Voting ended around 4pm on Monday May 2, 2022, after confusion broke out between some of the delegates.

A total of 1,072 delegates cast their ballot out of the voter population of 1, 148.

Former MP for LA Dadekotopon, Vincent Sowah Odotei who sworn in the new executives, commended the Electoral Commission, the organisers and the executives for making the process a success.

Jacob Aggrey reports that the Venue of the elections had to be moved from the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church at Osu to the Accra Arts Centre due to the lack of ballot papers on the initial set date for the exercise.

As voting was about wrapping up, a misunderstanding ensued  between sympathizers of some contesting candidates.

This compelled the Electoral Commission and the Police to cordon off the place for the sorting and counting of the votes.

Juliana Aboagye retained her seat as the Incumbent Chairperson with 316 votes. Richard Kwabena won the  Secretary position with 352 votes.

The newly elected Constituency Executives were sworn into office by former MP for LA Dadekotopon, Vincent Sowah Odotei.
