Schools in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality in the Western North Region are said to be experiencing low school turn-out since schools reopened about three weeks ago due to the engagement of students in “Pragia” business.

This concern was expressed by the Local Union Vice Chairman of GNAT, Felix Akomaning when he appeared on the Morning Show Programme dubbed “Public Focus” hosted by Abena Amponsah Kaakyire at Sefwi Wiawso.

Mr Akomaning said ”the engagement of students in commercial activities is likely to affect their academic performances and called for a regulation to ban such practices”.

On his part, the Municipal Chairman of GNAT, Kwarteng Kwasi Boakye, entreated parents to ensure the welfare of their wards by involving themselves in their academic activities.

He also charged “Pragia” Owners not to ”engage the services of school-going- children in commercial ventures”.
