Bernard Oduro Takyi, the Regional Coordinator for Caye-West Africa has stated that if care is not taken, Nkoranza would become a hotbed for an uprising in Nkoranza. He made this statement on the GTV’s Breakfast Show, May 23, 2022.

According to Bernard, the investigative body appointed by the Interior Ministry on the Nkoranza riot should be dissolved and an independent body should be appointed to go to Nkoranza and conduct their own investigations.

”People are not happy and if they are not careful, there will be an uprising in Nkoranza very soon.”

”I was there over the weekend and I know the information I picked, people are arming up against the Ghana Police Service, so they should not joke with this issue because you see two people are dead and it is a cross-party issue which cuts across.”

He reiterated, “if the Ghana Police Service is not careful, there would be a second uprising in Nkoranza because people are arming up, I am telling you on this show,” he reiterated.

The Nkoranza Municipal Police Command claimed that Albert Donkor was an armed robber who died in an exchange of fire with the Police Team.

However, the family has denied the claims, saying he was picked up from home into Police custody, where he died.

Albert Donkor’s demise has since caused some level of disturbances in the Community.
