An Accra circuit court has charged a father who had sex with his biological 14-year-old daughter for incest and defilement.
The father, Samuel Appiah Adjei 44-years of age and a transporter, resident in Dzorwulu, Accra, appearing before the court presided over Rita Abrokwa Doko, pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The accused according to prosecution committed the offence at his residence after the mother of the victim sent her on a short vacation with the father while on midterm last month.
Prosecution said, the girl was called by the father one evening and just asked her to lie on his bed and had sexual intercourse with her.
When the girl returned to school, she informed her school headmistress of her ordeal in the hands of the father. Subsequently, the headteacher reported the case to the police station and was arrested.
The court has granted the father bail in the sum of GH¢20,000 and also asked to stay away from the daughter until the matter comes to an end in court.
