‘I heeded to calls after a few consultations to pick the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) national leadership nomination form. They said, ‘we need your service, we need you to be part of the National Executive.’ GJA National Organiser Aspirants Mr. Dominic Hlordzi narrates.
The Ghana Journalists Association is at the crossroads as it is looking for a new crop of executive members to provide leadership in promoting professional journalism while striving to surgically remove bottlenecks that undermine the work of journalists in the country. Of course, helping to shape national development, another task.
The National Organiser’s role in navigating the three-year term terrain and making journalism jell again after “drops” in ranking is critical.
The GJA needs an organiser who “nature has organised” with honesty, integrity, determination, commitment, sacrifice, passion, ability to play in a team, resolute and hardworking.
These attributes Mr. Hlordzi is blessed with in addition to being “smart” holistically.
“These will come in handy in the discharge of my duties.” He assures.
“Old school skills” and “attributes” are a drawback. He warned voters in the upcoming regional and national elections not to be deceived into voting for an old fashioned aspirant.
With the tagline “in to serve” Mr. Hlordzi, Editor-In-Chief with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation is promising to work with other National Executive members to champion goals pertaining to:
*Welfare
*Professionalism
*Capacity Enhancement
*All Inclusiveness
*Safety
*Regional Branches Empowerment
*Structural Reforms
He implored journalists going to the polls on Friday, 24th June to vote massively for him.
“I have been tried and tested. Testimonies abound.” He stressed.
