The past few months have witnessed agitations for wage increases and strike by labour unions calling for better condition of service for employees.
The situation, experts say is creating some level of discomfort for government considering the current economic hardship.
Speaking to GBC NEWS in reaction to the issue, Head of Research at the Centre for Socio-economic Studies, CSS, Albert Wotorgbui says approach to labour issues in the country has not been the best and puts the blame squarely on the National Labour Commission, NLC, for its inability to effectively resolve workers’ grievances.
While advocating for a new institution to be established to proactively take care of labour issues, Mr Wotorgbui called on the Labour commission to be up and doing.
