The construction of a school facility at Kwadwo Fosu in the Yakoko Electoral Area in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region which started in 2016 under the John Mahama administration, has been abandoned.

The only structure that houses pupils was also destroyed by a heavy rainstorm six months ago and since then, pupils in the area have no permanent place to school.

Kwadwo Fosu: Community appeals to government for permanent school facility

To this end, the community is appealing to government to come to its aid and help construct a permanent school facility for the community.

Kwadwo Fosu is a community with population of over 2000, however, the community is confronted with numerous developmental issues such as poor road network, lack of permanent school facility for pupils and no access to healthcare facility in the area.

The pupils always have to move from one place to the other to have access to basic education.

Currently, an uncompleted and uncemented house of one of the community members as well as a church building serve as school facility for the pupils in the community.

In an exclusive interview with the Headteacher of Kwadwo Fosu D/A Kindergarten and Primary School, Amos Adu-Afari, he made a passionate appeal to the government, philanthropists and benevolent organizations to come to their aid.

The Assemblyman of Yakoko Electoral Area, Emmanuel Ayitey reiterated that the deplorable nature of their roads, lack of health centre in the area and the absence of permanent school facility in Kwadwo Fosu are some of the challenges he complained to the various authorities but his plea has yielded no result.

He noted that due to the deplorable nature of their roads, farmers in the Electoral Area are incapable of transporting their farm produce to the market, which is making the farmers run at a loss.

Mr. Ayitey pleaded with the government to come to their aid to help fix their roads, put up a permanent school facility for the pupils as well as provide them with a healthcare centre.

The Chief of Kwadwo Fosu, Nana Adisi also made appeal to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayensuano, Teddy Safori Addi, the government, philanthropists and benevolent organizations to come to their aid.

In interview with the Member of Parliament for Ayensuano Constituency, Mr. Safori Addi had this to say.
