A news report of GBC’S Radio Ghana few weeks ago that a school facility at Kwadwo Fosu D/A Primary School which has been destroyed by a heavy rainstorm over six months ago that has compelled pupils to school in an uncompleted church building and house at Kwadwo Fosu in the Yakoko Electoral Area in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region has yielded result.
Upon follow-up to the school, our correspondent Michael Kofi Kenetey, found that the District Assembly has commenced the construction of a new three-unit classroom block for the school.
The news team also chanced on the District Chief Executive, DCE, and the District Engineer and their team, who were on site assessing the progress of work in the school.
In an interview with the Ayensuano District Chief Executive, Josephine Awuku Asah noted that the project would be attached with the needed seriousness and attention to ensure that the project gets completed within three to four months and handed over to the community for school activities to commence in the facility.
Commenting on the six-unit GETFUND Project, which was commenced under the erstwhile John Mahama Administration, she noted that the project has been hit with lack of financial resources and she is in talks with the contractor to comeback to site.
Mrs. Awuku Asah added that when the GETFUND project is completed, it will serve as the Primary school while the three-unit Assembly project serves as JHS for the community hence there is no JHS in the community.
The Assemblyman for Yakoko Electoral Area, Emmanuel Ayitey, pleaded with government, through the DCE to fast-track activities to complete the project within the stipulated time.
He demonstrated his gratitude to the news team for coming to their aid to highlight on the challenges.
The Head teacher of Kwadwo Fosu D/A Kindergarten and Primary School, Amos Adu-Afari, made a passionate appeal to the government to help complete the two projects within the shortest possible time for them to have a full basic school in the area.
The pupils of the School also made a passionate appeal to the government to help complete the project in short time so they can have a permanent school facility to access education.
