The Director of Electoral Services at the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, says one does not need a Ghana card in order to vote in the 2024 elections.

He said this on GTV’s Breakfast Show.

In an interview closely monitored by GBC Online, the Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC) in charge of Corporate Services, Dr. Bossman Asare, said the  Ghana Card will be a requirement for voting in the 2024 election but Dr. Serebour has explained that issuance of Voter ID’s will still continue because it assigns one to a particular polling station whereas the Ghana card is only an identification card.

This means that one may need the Ghana card on registration day in order to acquire a voter’s ID or be enabled to vote in the 2024 elections.
