The British High Commission in Accra has reacted to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, who died yesterday, September 8, 2022 at the age of 96.
In a statement issued on Friday, September 9, 2022, the British High Commission to Ghana honoured her deep sense of duty, resilience as well as role in championing the development of the Commonwealth.
“Queen Elizabeth the second, was the rock on which modern Britain was built and the UK has grown and flourish under her reign…Her Majesty championed the development of the Commonwealth and we are proud of the longstanding and strong role Ghana plays in this family spanning every continent” parts of the statement read.
“She served her country with grace and dignity for 70 years” the statement further stated.

The Commission further thanked President Akufo-Addo who had earlier eulogised the Queen of England.
