The Daily Graphic and the Ghanaian Times call on all to embrace peace for to accelerate socio-economic development. The papers are happy that after decades of protracted conflict, the path is now clear for the enskinment of a new Ya-Na for the people of Dagbon. The Graphic and Times laud the efforts of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu and the Committee of Eminent Chiefs for their efforts over the years, and urge them to constantly engage stakeholders until a new Ya-Na is enskined to bring finality to the matter. While the Graphic implores government, the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, the Peace Council and all peace-loving citizens especially those from Dagbon to provide the necessary support needed, the Times urge the feuding brothers to remain calm and trust that justice would be served at the end of the day.
The Daily Heritage urges the public to be committed to helping mental health patients in the country. According to the paper, the Ghana Health Authority is complaining about the non-implementation of the of the Mental Health Levy embedded in the Mental Health Act passed two years ago by Parliament. The Heritage is therefore calling on government to take necessary steps to secure funds for projects aimed at improving the lot of mentally ill patients in the country.
