To ease the financial burden and facilitate punctuality to work, the management of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has launched a shuttle service for staff.
The buses will pick staff from home to work and back at subsides prices.
Speaking at the launch in Accra, Chief Executive Officer of Korle-Bu, Dr Opoku Oware Amponsah said the welfare and safety of staff is critical to the overall agenda of the premier hospital and that is why Management welcomed the decision to operate the bus system.
Board Chairman of the hospital, Dr Nkansa Dwamena applauded the initiative and said it will go a long way “to further position the hospital to provide first class health delivery”.
Some of the staff who spoke to GBC NEWS, said they were excited that the shuttle service have come at a time when transport fares take a chunk of their salaries.
