October 11, 2022, officially marked 100 days since the current Leadership of the Ghana Journalists Association assumed office.

To receive some counsel on the way forward, the GJA Executives led by its President, Albert Dwumfour, paid a reciprocal courtesy call on the Chairman of the Pentecost Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye at his Office in Teshie, Accra.

Mr. Dwumfour and Apostle Nyamekye agreed that it was necessary for Journalists to pay critical attention to Peace and Security issues ahead of Election 2024.

Therefore, GJA and the Church would collaborate to build the capacity of Journalists in this regard, “given that the Media and the Church have a common agenda of promoting national development’’, Mr. Dwumfour reiterated.

The GJA President was grateful to the Church for their support and used the occasion to invite Apostle Nyamekye to the 26th GJA Awards scheduled for November 12, 2022, at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra.

His Vice President, Linda Asante Agyei; Treasurer, General Secretary, Kofi Yeboah; Audrey Dekalu; Organizing Secretary, Dominic Hlodzi; and Public Affairs Officer, Rebecca Ekpe joined Mr. Dwumfour on the visit.

Meanwhile, General Secretary, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi Larbi; Missions Director, Apostle Agyeman Bekoe; and Pastor Dr. Felix Dela Klutse, Head of Media joined Apostle Nyamekye for the meeting.

Apostle Nyamekye encouraged the GJA Leadership to focus on teamwork because teamwork is a recipe for success.

“Keep up the teamwork and do not disappoint those who elected you,’’ he reiterated.

He was of the view that the team was on track and needed to do more to place Journalism in Ghana on the pedestal.

“Journalism in Ghana …we’ve done well, but, we can do more,’’ according to Apostle Nyamekye while charging the GJA leadership to show “leadership by example’’, and stay focused on the agenda to make Ghana a better place.
