Member of Parliament (MP) for Yapei Kusawgu Constituency in the Northern Region and a member of the Parliament’s Finance Committee, Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has questioned further the implementation of government policies.
He spoke on the GTV Breakfast Show on November 1, 2022.
“You cannot use medium or long policies to address short-term crises. You require short-term policies to address short-term crises,” he noted.
One of the measures the President said would be adopted to address the free fall of the cedi is to task the Bank of Ghana to sanitise the forex market.
But the Yapei Kusawgu lawmaker believes that a long-term financial policy should have been adopted a long time ago.
“If the President is now going to implement all things, then there is a problem somewhere,” he noted.
The member of Parliament’s Finance Committee said this on a segment on the GTV’s Breakfast Show dubbed “Minority’s Take on President Akufo-Addo’s nationwide televised address” on Sunday, October 30, 2022.
