Ghana head coach Otto Addo has began the process of naming his final squad for the World Cup in Qatar 2022 which kicks off this month.
The Black Stars gaffer on Tuesday night called each player who will not be a part of his final 26-man squad for the World Cup to inform them about his decision.
The Black Stars Coach is expected to release a 26-man squad for the Mundial as he drops other 29 players from the preliminary list which was announced last Friday.
The deadline for the submission of final squads to FIFA is November 14, 2022.
The Coach has started informing by omitting by phone.
Fallouts
Anderlecht midfielder Majeed Ashimeru, Cremonese striker Felix Afena-Gyan, Crystal Palace star Jeffrey Schlupp and Joseph Paintsil have all been dropped from Ghana’s World Cup squad.
Reports indicate that Daniel Afriyie Barnieh is the only local player among the 26-man squad with Goal Keeper Ibrahim Danlad missing out on the list.
Coach Otto Addo is expected to announce the final 26-man squad on Friday ahead of FIFA’s November 14 deadline.
Ghana face Portugal in their first Group H match on November 24 at the 974 Stadium before taking on South Korea and Uruguay in the subsequent matches.
