The Ghana Police Service in a bid to eradicate Human trafficking on the Volta Lake has inaugurated four marine boats with support from the International Justice Mission, IJM in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti region.

The IJM will also provide capacity building, trainings and operational logistics to the Marine Police to effectively patrol some parts of the Volta Lake.

This follows collaboration between the two institutions some years ago. As part of the initiative the Volta Lake Marine Police Patrols Boat Team is to be situated at the Bank of Kete-Krachi.
