Panelists on our Current Affairs Programme, ‘Focus’, have commended the Senior national football team, the Black Stars, for their emphatic victory against South Korea in the ongoing World Cup in Qatar.
Reacting to the performance of the Black Stars, former Minister of Youth and Sports and Member of Parliament (MP) for Odododiodoo, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, said the Black Stars exhibited some quality display despite their immaturity on the international stage.
He said the team is new and it is expected, they will encounter some difficulties but with time, they will overcome.
Coach J.E Sarpong said, the team needs mental fortitude to be able to conquer any opponents they face.
He was emphatic that language barrier is a key factor bedeviling the team’s progress.
Coach Sarpong said all they have to do is to exhibit confidence to be able to outwit their opponents.
GBC’s ace Sports Commentator and FIFA’s Information and Entertainment for Ghana in Qatar, Benjamin Willie Graham said the Black Stars are preparing to face Uruguay on Friday. He said the players are ready for their opponents.
