The Senior National Football Team, the Black Stars, will this afternoon play Uruguay in a Group H match at the ongoing World Cup in Qatar.

Many football pundits and supporters have dubbed this afternoon a revenge match. This is because a goal-bound header by Dominic Adiyia in the 120th-minute quarter-final match in 2010 World Cup in South Africa, was parried back into play by Uruguay’s Louis Suarez.

Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan threw away the resultant penalty to break the hearts of the teeming Ghanaian and African supporters to keep the score line still One-One. In the subsequent penalty shoot-out for qualification for the semi-finals, Uruguay edged out the Black Stars.

In the other group match, Portugal will play South Korea. Both matches will be played simultaneously. Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo is optimistic of the outcome of today’s match against Uruguay.
