Professor Amin Alhassan grateful to President Akufo-Addo and Ghanaians for supporting GBC

The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC, collaborated with the Ministry of Roads and Highways to organise its 2022 edition of the annual festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.

The event took place at the forecourt of the Ghana Highway Authority in Accra on December 22, 2022 was under the theme ” Christ Our Saviour”.

The event saw ministrations from the Evergreen choir from the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, the newly inaugurated Asphaltic Choir from the Ministry of Roads and Highways, the Garrisons Methodist Presbyterian Choir, the Deeper Life Orchestra and Mr. Victor Awubawuni, a Soloist.

In a welcome address, the Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Professor Amin Alhassan urged Ghanaians to celebrate the festivities solemnly as Christians commemorate the birth of Christ.

Professor Alhassan touched on the historic essence of the festival of lessons and Carol, acknowledging the strength and mercies of God, ”as the force that has seen the country Ghana and its citizens out of this year’s economic difficulties”.

He also expressed profound gratitude to the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia for their immense support towards the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in the year 2022.

He commended Ghanaians for their immense patronage of GBC’s Channels over the years, urging them to ”celebrate the yuletide in peace and in good health”.

Dignitaries who graced the Occasion included the Minister for Roads and Highways, Honorable Amoako Attah, the Director of Religious Affairs of the Ghana Armed Forces, Reverend Naval Commodore Paul Adjei Djan, Acting Director Of Television at GBC, Mr. George Lomotey, and the Acting Director of Finance, Rev. Dr. Botwe.
