Ghanaian Traditional Musician, King Ayisoba has rated Kologo music above other music genres.

Speaking on the GTV Breakfast Show, he explained that he has battled and won many awards with kologo music.

“It is not easy to win artist of the year with this’’, he said, lifting up his hand and displaying his 2- stringed lute.
‘This is because I’ve battled and won with my 2-stringed lute over a computer beat’, he added, beaming with smiles.

Kologo is a traditional musical instrument used by the Frafras, an ethnic group in Northern Ghana. The indigenous instrument is made from the body of a calabash gourd, covered with hairless goat skin and accommodating
two strings.

According to a publication by Harmattangh in 2017, Kologo music has been with the people from the northern part of Ghana since time immemorial. It began to gain popularity in the 19th century.

“No beer in heaven” hitmaker, Atongo Zimba, king Ayisoba, Stevo Atambire, and Captain Yaba are instrumental in putting Kologo music on the global map.

Meanwhile, King Ayisoba has applauded Ghanaians for the love shown to him by patronizing his music.

He bagged two awards, namely, the Traditional Song of the year and Song of the year at the Ghana Music Awards in 2007.
