Court fines Bulldog GH₵48,000 for threatening President Akufo-Addo; or in default serve 40 years in prison

An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced Artiste Manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson popularly known as ‘Bulldog’ to a fine of 48 thousand Cedis for issuing threats against the President. In default of the fine, he will serve a 40-day imprisonment.

Bulldog who is a regular pundit of an entertainment programme on private television station, ‘United Showbiz on UTV’ made a statement on the show that President Akufo-Addo will not finish his four-year tenure if he failed to settle customers of Menzgold.

He was charged with offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace but pleaded not guilty. The said statement was made by Bulldog on January 9 2021 when he appeared as one of the panelists on the show. During the programme, the issue of Menzgold was raised and he issued the threat. Following that, he was arrested and put before court.
