University of Ghana Concerned Students Association protest over myriad of challenges

The University of Ghana Concerned Students Association on Friday, peacefully and openly expressed their displeasure over exorbitant fees, student brutality and accommodation issues on campus.

The protest started at the Obra Spot at the Kwame Interchange in Accra and ended at the Black Star Square with the presentation of a petition to the government.

The ‘Yabre Mo Demonstration’ started around 10:00 am, even though, it was officially scheduled to start at 7:30 am.

From the Obra Sport, the concerned students trekked through Adabraka, Farisco Traffic Light to the Black Star Square.

Presenting the petition to the government through the Education Ministry, the Lead Petitioner, Mr. Eugene Boakye Junior, raised issues of concern of the students.

When he received the petition on behalf of the government, the Director of Internal Audit at the Ministry of Education, Mr. Edward Fiawo, assured that government will respond appropriately.

The concerned students also called on the school authorities to roll out a clear plan to fix the numerous issues facing the University.
