Former President, John Mahama has launched his campaign at Sokode in the Volta Region, ahead of the NDC primaries in May.
Mr. Mahama is gearing up to lead the Party into the next general election to wrest power from the ruling NPP.
Focusing his address on “Building the Ghana We Want Together”, the former President said the country has reached a point where experienced hands to run its affairs are needed.
He said when given the nod, he will strictly enforce prudence in the management of the country’s finances. He promised to investigate how public funds have been expended when he assumes power.
Former President Mahama said no one in the NPP wants to take responsibility for the economic mess in the country but rather go about blaming external factors for the problems.
Mr. John Mahama’s Campaign Manager, Professor Joshua Alabi, said the last six years have been the most difficult in the country’s history as the country is saddled with debt and global ridicule. He eulogised Mr. John Mahama for being a blessing to the party and the country.
