Governance Expert and Director General of the Internal Audit Agency, Dr. Eric Osae Oduro, has made a passionate appeal to the government of Ghana and all other national Stakeholders to throw in more support to the state broadcaster, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.

The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation is a State-owned media organization solely responsible for the broadcasting of national events, of which the Independence Day celebration is among. During a live telecast of the 66th independence celebration parade match at Adaklu in the Volta region of Ghana, there was an intermittent break and eventually a failure in transmission at a point of the event.

The inconvenience which was a result of a fire gutting the National Digital Terrestrial Transmission Station at Ho left many Ghanaians disappointed, and some took to social media to express their anger and disappointment at the State Broadcaster.

In a response to the rants and angry expressions by Ghanaians, Dr. Osae asked Ghanaians to stop the blame game and rather support GBC.

He added that the government needs to provide the necessary logistics to the State broadcaster for it to be competitive and efficient in its duties.

He, therefore, called on Parliament and government to invest in the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation so they can project the heritage and values of Ghana.
